About the role
As Flat6Labs Investment Associate, you will play a critical role in managing and supporting our portfolio of startups, researching technology sectors, speaking with founders of growing knowledge-economy companies, contributing to their growth and success within the GCC region, executing financial analysis and assisting on reports preparations.
Your responsibilities will include conducting due diligence on potential investments, assisting portfolio companies in fundraising efforts, and maintaining strong industry connections.

Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a portfolio of startups, providing guidance and support for their growth and success.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and investment updates to keep stakeholders informed of portfolio performance and milestones.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including financial analysis and market research.
- Proactively identify and source promising startups within the GCC region, leveraging industry connections and networks.
- Assist portfolio companies in their fundraising efforts, offering expertise in investor pitches and financial modeling.
- Support negotiations and contribute to the preparation of legal documentation for investment deals.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement effective investment strategies for Flat6Labs Ignite program.
- Build and nurture a strong network of regional VCs, investors, and industry experts to foster strategic partnerships.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and market developments by attending conferences and networking events.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of portfolio performance, achievements, and challenges.
- Work closely with the senior investment team in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Uphold the highest level of professionalism and adhere to industry best practices in all interactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. MBA or CFA qualification is a plus.
- At least 2 to 4 years of experience in investment analysis, portfolio management, or venture capital, with a focus on startups and early-stage investments.
- Extensive knowledge of the GCC startup ecosystem, including key players, industry trends, and investment landscape.
- Excellent English language skills. (Arabic is a plus)
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to connect with entrepreneurs, investors, and industry professionals
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare comprehensive reports and investment memos.
- Solid understanding of financial modeling and budgeting.
- Resourcefulness and a proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities in a timely manner.
