Emaratech, the leading technology and management consulting company in the Arab world, is seeking a Unix Administrator (Linux) to join their team. This role will involve providing support for Linux servers and systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability. Emaratech offers a wide variety of services, including online solutions, outsourced technology, and advanced business information technology solutions for both private and public sectors.
As a technology-focused company, Emaratech requires a Unix Administrator who is able to provide expertise in maintaining and optimizing Linux systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining security and backup procedures, monitoring system performance, and managing user accounts.
Requirements:
- Installation, Configuration, Standard Hardening, Application installation amp; Administration of Linux operating system.
- Installation, Configuration, Standard Hardening, Administration of virtualization technology.
- Installation, Configuration, Standard Hardening, Administration of k8s.
- Automate the provisioning, daily operational tasks, repeated tasks.
- Analyze system logs and identifying potential issues with systems.
- Perform routine scheduled backups and manage recovery procedures.
- Support in the design, configuration, deployment, and management of a centralized datacenter.
- Assist in planning, designing, and maintaining the computing technology infrastructure including all server and storage environments.
- Support in implementing, fine-tuning, and configuring high availability technologies on all applicable services and equipment ensuring their reliability.
- Support in the cloud administration (Foundation or Administration level is required)
- Support in the implementation and integration of new technologies and solutions in the existing data center environment, and provide recommendations and guidance regarding overall system selection, design, and performance.
- Support the migration of existing technology systems to improved infrastructure for better capacity, reliability, availability, and performance.
- Assist in conducting preventive maintenances, perform advanced systems health checks, and support auditing of systems and applications.
- Support in monitoring network connectivity, servers? operations, services, shared resources, log files, and file systems capacity, hardware performance and scalability.
- Perform software and security updates and other system configuration tasks to ensure the health and availability of services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including user access and component configuration.
- Actively follow and promote all policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks and duties that may be from time to time required in order to meet the requirements of the role.
- Knowledge in database components, middleware application components, monitoring.
Requirements
- Required skills:
- 6 + years of Experience in Unix Administration.
- Linux Administration - RHEL, Ubuntu Linux , Oracle Linux is preferred as a primary operating system (latest certification is good)
- Virtualization Administration - VMWare, Nutanix, KVM, Hyper-V (latest certification is good)
- Container Administration amp; Orchestration (ie. docker, podman, lxc, lxd, rancher, red hat OpenShift, ubuntu juju, Karbon, VMware Tanzu, etc.,)
- Storage Administration (Any storage technology is fine)
- Backup, Restoration, Replication, Disaster Recovery solutions (any solutions are fine)
- IT Automation tools: ansible, chef, puppet, Jenkins, GitOps, terraform any other such IT automation tools
