Scope and General Purpose
Install, configure, troubleshoot and perform testing activities on Copper, Cat5, Cat6 and Fiber Optic cables as well as other network equipment.
Main Duties:
• Conduct job site surveys.
• Carry out day to day process within the communications infrastructure to include the pulling, troubleshooting and repairing of inside and outside plant wiring.
• Read blue prints and/or job specifications to determine cable pathways and establish cabling pulling schedule.
• Terminate copper/or fiber cable with appropriate hardware per manufacturer and industry standards.
• Build network racks and cabinets and equip with panels, cable management, network switches, routers and other ancillary equipment as required.
• Label all terminated cables with end- point designations as determined by the customer or project manager.
• Test terminated cables to confirm adherence to industry standards.
• Report any project scope changes, issues, or concerns to assigned contacts.
• May require installation and/or patching of customer end-point equipment such as access point, PC, printer or other.
• Ensure that all workmanship is in compliance with industry, customer infrastructure quality and safety requirements.
• Understand, adheres to & promote Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
