• Designs water supply and sewerage systems by creating maps, schematics, specifications and blueprints that meet specific requirements.
• Manages water supply and sewerage system evaluation and inspection; tests the adequacy and functionality of water supply and sewerage systems to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
• Liaises with clients, government agencies and technical experts to communicate various requirements and needs for water supply and sewerage system design.
• Provides technical support during water supply and sewerage system operation; coordinates staff in technical support
• Operating manual and computerized equipment such as sludge processing and pumping stations
• Cleaning and maintaining septic tanks and filters
• Adding chemicals and microbes to treat the water
• Monitoring water and gas levels
• Taking readings and keeping accurate records
• Checking the condition of plant equipment
• Carrying out minor repairs to equipment, or reporting major faults to engineers
• Following strict safety procedures at all times.
