We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a BFE Manager. The BFE Manager will be responsible for overseeing Buyer-Furnished Equipment line- and retrofit programs, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project requirements. This position required outstanding communication and negotiation abilities, along with a comprehensive technical understanding, as well as expertise in supply chain management and vendor relationships.
Key reponsibilities:
- Collaborate with project teams to identifiy BFE requirements and specifications.
- Manage the entire BFE process of linefit and retrofit projects: from setting up and running a call for tender up to the final delivery and acceptance including improvement initiatives..
- Ensure on-dock dates and avoid delays and impact on linefit / retrofit programs.
- Negotiate BFE contracts for linefit, retrofit and equipment modifications.
- Administer contracting and/ or procurement of all technical products and services.
- Responsible for issuing, responding to queries and compliance with corporate governance rules in respect of all technical RFPs.
- Cooridinate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, product, program management and finace to ensure BFE items meet project specifications and timelines.
- Work with Insurances Manager for claims on faulty equipment and promptly inform project stakeholders.
- Investigating and proposing solutions in case of retrofit demand (such as selecting best supplier, finding slots for potential modification, sourcing parts and program management)
- Source and supply parts for the aftermarket.
- Trade with aircraft seats and aircraft equipment
- Primary areas of support include in-seat power, seats, Inflight connectivity and wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems, retrofits, and parts
- Brief and update line manager on daily operations in the designated area for possible improvements and solving bottlenecks.
- Support the continuous improvement of logistics and invoicing processes, procedures and systems by recommending and implementing new solutions and/or systems to maximize economic benefits and increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
- University degree, preferably with post-graduate management degree in the field of aeronautical, mechanical, electrical engineering with a minor in financial management.
- Minimum 15 years in aviation industry with at least 5 years of technical management within the area of projects or contracts.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations e.g. JAA, EASA, FAA and or UAE GCAA.
- Fluency in English; fluency in additional languages would be beneficial
