As an intern on the FPamp;A Team, your primary role will be centred around enhancing financial reporting processes. You will engage in the development and maintenance of comprehensive financial reports, which will involve consolidating data from various departments and presenting it in an accessible, coherent format. This position requires a keen eye for detail and accuracy in handling monthly and quarterly financial data, ensuring that all reports are precise and timely.
In this role, you will:
- Assist in creating and maintaining accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support in preparing detailed budget and forecast reports.
- Help develop financial models for variance analysis and identify financial trends.
- Monitor financial performance metrics and report significant deviations.
- Manage key performance indicators related to financial health and business objectives.
- Work with senior finance team members to ensure cohesive reporting.
- Suggest improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency.
- Test and implement changes in financial reporting systems.
- Assist in ad-hoc projects and requests made to the FPamp;A team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field
- Prior experience in a stakeholder facing role advantageous
- Understanding of basic accounting principals and the accruals concept
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate excel skills are a requirement
- Ability to operate effectively with people at all levels of the business
- Organizational and accounting skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail
- Proactive and result driven
- Demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines on critical projects
- A strong desire to exceed expectations
