Founded in 2018, Skyports is an Advanced Air Mobility company developing and operating landing infrastructure for the electric air taxi revolution, as well as using drones for a variety of business requirements.
Our business is comprised of two entities.
Skyports Infrastructure where we play a critical role in the Advanced Air Mobility ecosystem; designing, building, owning, and operating vertiports that enable eVTOL operators to take off and land in and around cities across the world.
Skyports Drone Services where we use drone technology to enable businesses to develop their logistics, capture key data, and improve operational efficiency. We are active in the rural deliveries, survey, surveillance and maritime verticals.

Role overview
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Development Manager to join our expanding infrastructure division in Dubai with a focus on Middle East projects.
The role is extremely varied; from assembling design teams, managing design development, overseeing contractor procurement and appointment, value engineering, managing the design and construction team throughout developments and bringing developments into operational readiness.
Skyports is going to develop and deploy a number of vertiports in Dubai as part of its high-profile project with the RTA. This will be the first project in the world with permanent vertiport infrastructure for commercial operations of air taxi services. The infrastructure DM will be critical to ensuring the delivery and success of this roll out.
Based in Dubai, the role may involve domestic and international travel, especially within the GCC region but also internationally.
You will:
- Be responsible for development projects from inception to completion
- Undertake site feasibility assessments and identify surveys that need to be completed
- Prepare and manage business plans and budgets
- Select, appoint and manage professional teams
- Procurement and management of the contractor
- Manage planning applications and procurement of required consents
- Manage design processes ensuring value maximization, budget and programme control
- Manage developments ensuring value maximization, budget and programme control
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety and environmental regulations
- Monitor and report on all financial aspects of projects
- Manage projects through to completion and operational readiness
Requirements
- Professional qualification, ideally RICS with 5+ years PQE
- Experience working as a Development Manager in Dubai and GCC region
- Experience of working with RIBA processes amp; plans
- Project experience at multiple different project phases
- Knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools, and techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excel proficiency is a core requirement.
- A highly motivated, proactive, self-starter and team-player who likes a challenge and has the ingenuity and resilience to find the solutions to overcome them
- Ability to quickly master complex, technical issues
- A strong interest in aviation and advanced air mobility is preferred
- Being comfortable navigating through ambiguity as this is a new industry and no one yet has all the answers
- Embraces opportunities to learn new skills and take on new tasks whenever they arise
- Flexibility to travel is preferred
