Job Description
ROLE / PURPOSE:
The Principal Process Engineer is responsible for leading and managing process engineering activities for projects in the Oil amp; Gas industry. This position requires in-depth knowledge and experience in various sectors of the industry, including Upstream, Midstream, Downstream, Refineries, and Petrochemicals. The role involves designing and optimizing process systems, conducting feasibility studies, and providing technical guidance and support to the team.
As a Principal Process Engineer, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects and ensuring their successful execution within the given timelines and budget. You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders to develop and implement process solutions that meet project requirements and industry standards.
Additionally, you will be involved in evaluating and selecting process equipment and technologies, reviewing technical specifications and vendor documentation, and participating in HAZOP, HAZID, and other safety studies. You will also be responsible for mentoring and developing junior process engineers, providing technical guidance and support, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage process engineering activities for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, and industry standards.
- Design and optimize process systems for various sectors of the Oil amp; Gas industry, including Upstream, Midstream, Downstream, Refineries, and Petrochemicals.
- Conduct feasibility studies and techno-economic analysis to evaluate the viability of process solutions.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders to develop detailed process designs and implement process solutions.
- Evaluate and select process equipment and technologies based on project requirements and industry best practices.
- Review technical specifications, vendor documentation, and participate in technical bid evaluations.
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and other safety studies to assess and mitigate process safety risks.
- Mentor and develop junior process engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the process engineering team.
Requirements
- B.Sc. / B.E. in Chemical Engineering or related field from a reputed institute.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on the Oil amp; Gas industry, (Refinery amp; Petrochemicals)
- Design experience is required.
- Mandatory skills needed: HAZOP, FEED, EPC, EPCI, PMC.
- Onshore experience is needed.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in Upstream, Midstream, Downstream, Refineries, and Petrochemicals.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing process engineering activities for projects.
- Strong expertise in process design and optimization, feasibility studies, and techno-economic analysis.
- Experience in evaluating and selecting process equipment and technologies.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to work well in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, ProMax, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in using engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, MS Office.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in the Oil amp; Gas industry.
- Ability to travel to project sites and client locations as required.
