Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated testing frameworks and test scripts for web and backend applications.

The role requires strong expertise in both Manual Testing and Test Automation, with a focus on functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing. The candidate will work closely with Development, Product, and DevOps teams to integrate quality engineering practices into the software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines.

The role will also involve mentoring junior QA engineers, driving QA best practices, and contributing to continuous improvements in testing processes and automation efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements to identify testing needs.
• Design, document, and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts.
• Build and maintain scalable automated test suites for web and backend applications.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution using tools such as Jira.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to investigate and resolve quality issues.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor test results and continuously improve test coverage, reliability, and execution efficiency.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to QA and automation standards.
• Maintain appropriate QA documentation, test reports, and release-quality metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and support knowledge-sharing within the QA team.
• Champion QA best practices and promote a quality-focused engineering culture.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Strong understanding of Quality Assurance, Software Testing, SDLC, and STLC.
• Proven experience in designing and documenting detailed test cases and test scenarios.
• Strong hands-on experience in Manual Testing, including functional, regression, exploratory, and integration testing.
• Strong hands-on experience in QA Automation and automated test framework development.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and executing automated test suites.
• Experience testing web and backend applications.
• Good understanding of defect management and tracking tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential quality risks.
• Ability to clearly document defects, test results, and testing outcomes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience mentoring junior QA engineers or leading QA initiatives is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively with Development, Product, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
