The Site EHS Advisor shall possess:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing support and advice to site personnel so as to prevent injury to personnel, damage to plant and equipment, fire, ensuring environmental protection and site security.
- Development, implementation and maintenance of the Site Specific Environmental, Health, Safety Management System monitoring compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and company requirements.
- Monitor compliance with the Site Specific EHS Plan and all other applicable rules and regulations. Monitor the effectiveness of the EHS plan, revise as necessary and take appropriate action in the event of none compliance.
- Prepare and implement an EHS awareness program.
- Prepare, implement and maintain emergency plans, security programs and site access control procedures.
- Set up and administer an EHS training program.
- Advise other site personnel on all aspects of EHS applicable to site activities.
- Co-ordinate activities with the Site management team in respect to EHS requirements.
- Co-ordinate activities of sub-contractors with respect to EHS, especially where interfaces are involved with other contractors or operational areas of plant.
- Co-ordinate the review and approval of EHS Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Ensure that Accidents/Incidents are recorded, investigated and analyzed.
- Prepare and submit a monthly EHS report to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation for the duration of the Project.
- Additional tasks & responsibilities are also defined in the Plant Business process maps and related instructions.

- Number of audits performed and documented
- Proactive and reactive indicators

- Customer satisfaction
- Further Objectives, Targets and Performance Measurements are defined on a yearly basis.

AUTHORITY:
- To give instructions to Plant personnel relevant to EHS
- To call for the cessation of works if where immediate serious safety risk is identified
- Has the right to interrupt any activity whenever such action is necessary to meet Environment, Health and Safety requirements
- Big picture person able to see how this role relates to all aspects of the company
- Strong technical knowledge of EHS management systems is essential. Experience in risk assessment and auditing would be preferred
- Good general computer and spreadsheet skills is essential (MS Office)
- Proven ability to assess and suggest appropriate solutions and processes is essential
- Responsible, dependable and ethical
- Good people management and interpersonal skills; outgoing personality style
- Solid capable person, with a strong initiative
- Have drive and determination
- Confident and strong communication skills
- Has ability to work both independently with limited supervision and as part of a team;
QUALIFICATION: Based upon qualification levels being in the following order:
1. Certificate
2. Diploma
3. Degree
4. Master
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education:
- Health and Safety Qualification recognized by the enforcing authorities in the country of operation (where possible equivalent to Diploma level)
- Environmental Qualification (where possible equivalent to Certificate level)
- Relevant EHS Experience
- Relevant experience of construction sites.
2. Specific knowledge and skills:
- - Strong technical knowledge of EHS management systems is essential. Experience in risk assessment and auditing would be preferred;
