Job Description
The Local Unit Procurement and Logistics Manager is responsible for:
- Local procurement and logistics functions, incl. timely, correct and complete delivery of results according to contracts and schedules
- Ensuring the availability of resources (employees, skills, processes, tools, suppliers, etc.)
- Managing the functions in the local unit as cost centers in order to minimize costs
- Providing low cost sourcing support for targeted commodities
- Developing and implementing local sourcing strategies
- Ensuring proper definition of product quality requirements for suppliers and increasing the number of local qualified suppliers
- Monitoring supplier performance and timely delivery of products
- Acting as expert for the development and negotiation of purchasing contracts
- Providing tendering support for your area of expertise
- Identifying training needs and plan execution of staff and supplier trainings
- Implementing and monitoring compliance with quality and EHS rules
Job Specification
General Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent qualification
- Additional qualification in finance, economics or management (e.g. BBA, MBA) would be an asset
- Relevant experience in the industrial plant or power plant business (engineering or commercial issues) and project management experience
- Know-how and/or experience in project management methods and tools (time scheduling, risk management, budgeting, legal aspects etc.)
- Knowledge of the power plant market (main components, main systems) will be an advantage
- Basic knowledge of industrial management and industrial administration
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); further language skills (ideally in Chinese) preferred
