Bodyshop Supervisor - Volvo Trucks | FAMCO | Dubai
About the Position:
We currently looking to recruit an experienced Bodyshop Supervisor for Volvo Trucks in Dubai. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring optimum utilization of the available bodyshop, labour and resources to achieve set operational efficiency targets. The role involves ensuring the team carries out repairs related to body denting, painting in accordance to established quality, safety and efficiency guidelines and within set time frames. You will need to coordinate with Insurance companies and customers on required works and costs.
Specifically, your key responsibilities are as follows:
Prepares the team for the upcoming job and allocates job cards to them to align the jobs to the skills set and efficiency level and maximize throughput in a timely manner
Liaising with Insurance companies for securing business, preparing estimates, joint inspection with Insurance team, Follow-up on LPOs, submission of invoices to insurance, Follow-up for payment from Insurance agencies and customers.
Reviews pre-order forms (Parts proforma) to confirm parts requirements are well matched with the issue on hand and guaranteed to fix the problem
Ensures quality checks are done on finished jobs by the technicians
Monitors warranty jobs to ensure the team follows the set warranty guidelines. This includes reviewing job cards and other documentation to justify warranty claims and facilitate smooth processing
Reviews body shop figures, such as hours sold, hours worked versus idle hours to monitor progress of operational targets. This includes preparing reports for management discussions
Monitors communication with customers through Service Advisors
Communication with workshop team
Monitors and improves the competency of team members. Accountable for the functioning and repairs of tools / equipment being used in the body shop
About You:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications, knowledge and skills:
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:
Technical Education of minimum 2 Years
Bodyshop working knowledge
Knowledge of all disciplines in body shop team i.e., Welder, Denter, Painter etc.
Able to assess repair work and create quotations
Minimum Experience:
Minimum 5 years hands on experience in handling and monitoring Bodyshop repairs
Job-Specific Skills:
Good communicator in English; Arabic an advantage
Good contacts with Insurance agencies
Knowledge of communication – Mails, calls, face to face.
Valid UAE Passenger Bus and truck driver’s license will be an advantage
Ability to identify source of suppliers for quality and better price Consumables
Planning and organizing
