We are looking for an individual with passion for corporate finance to join our Dubai (United Arab Emirates) office where we provide front-end building design leadership for the wider group.

What are we looking for?

SSH are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Dubai. The Senior Financial Analyst must demonstrate about 10 yrs. of experience working in a similar role in the Middle East / Africa. You will have experience with international tax and internal/external audit and be a qualified accountant preferably within the same industry.

What will my responsibilities look like in this role?

To manage the Statutory Accounts, Tax Compliance and External Audit for SSH Group.

Statutory Accounts
Addressing the local statutory accountancy requirements as per local laws and regulations in the countries of our operations, and this is mainly related to commerce, labour and tax regulations
Handling statutory reporting and required submissions
Tax Compliance
Ensuring compliance with tax regulations (including VAT) in the countries of our operations, through developing and rolling out tax compliance policies throughout the business as required and overseeing the implementation of the same.
Handling tax declarations.
Handling tax investigations
Contributing to and driving tax optimization strategies
Setting up and management of transfer pricing policies in each region.
External & Internal Audit
Handling the external audits over the Group consolidated accounts and the individual companies with the Group
Ensuring alignment of the accounting and financial reporting practices with IFRS.
Handling company evaluations and due diligence with respective consultants.
Providing support to the internal audit mandate as and when required, mainly driven by the relationship with the Audit Committee and the Group Internal Auditor. Such support could be on risk assessments, internal audit planning, and follow-up on actions required from the management especially those of financial nature.
Other Duties
Supporting the Head of Strategic Finance in other duties relating to ERM Strategies, Corporate Governance, Corporate Reporting and Bank Relations
Support Budgeting, Forecasting and Planning Teams
Support Central Finance and Project Finance Teams
Manage the finance function in South Africa

What do I need to apply?

10 years of relevant experience managing a Finance department with a strong Project Finance focus.
International Tax Experience
Advanced Excel PowerPoint and word skills essential
Good presentation skills and interaction with senior management
Strong Analytical Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships
A pro-active approach, able to work autonomously and use own initiative.
High personal standards and a commitment to delivering quality information to deadlines.
A critical eye for details, accuracy and presentation. It is essential that the Strategic Finance Lead take responsibility for checking and critically reviewing their own work, as incorrect information or analysis can have serious implications for the business.
An enquiring mind and desire to understand the story behind the numbers.
Ability to understand, prioritise and manage internal customer expectations
Architecture, Engineering and Construction Industry experience preferred but not essential
Deltek (ERP) Experience preferred

Other Information
This role could be based in our Dubai or Kuwait office
The position is office based with some travel to other SSH offices required.
Completion of a Bachelor or a Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
Formal financial qualification (ICAEW, CIMA, CA, CFA or ACCA)
