About the Role

The Logistics Manager is responsible for manage all aspects of freight, procurement of freight, warehouse, transport and e-commerce last mile.; baseline data, tender process, comparisons, scorecarding, negotiations, contracts to operational implementation to deliver reduced cost, improved service and accuracy and vertical supply chain transformation roadmaps. Support new business and strategic partnerships.

Key Specific Accountabilities:

Tenders

Origin to destination freight; air, sea & road, documentation, terminal handling

E-commerce last mile providers

Nominated Carrier programme

Support strategic initiatives; new portfolio, regions, brands/categories, ecommerce

Data Gathering & Analysis

Consolidate shipping lane data from all brands to synergise procurement requirements

Co-ordinate group procurement to validate all procurement activity

Service levels; co-ordinate brand requirements for lead-times, standard operating procedures

Present tender status & savings management summaries

Be ‘in touch’ with air & sea freight market trends

Contractual Compliance

Act as a boiler plate lawyer to amend clauses, e.g. term and duration

Produce contract summaries

Co-ordinate Al Futtaim legal input and sign off

Implement best practice legal contracts

Ensure group procurement norms met e.g. 60 days payment…, insurance

Ensure authorities compliance; government local authority compliance, health & safety…

Attain signatures, maintain database and act as custodian of all SC contracts

Continues Improvement

Inbound logistics; budget cost (lcf) and Lead time from source hub to arrival at DC, customs clearance

Outbound Logistics; Management of RDC, x-dock centres, Composite DC’s and distribution to stores, Direct to Store model

Efficiency

Vehicle utilisation % - create synergy between brands

Stock: Lead time improvement

Service; OTD, FTP, lead time to store from DC, E-commerce Delivery NPS

People Management

Brand Logistics Managers, Service providers, Finance, Group Procurement, Group Legal

Job Specification

About You

To be succesfully considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

University Degree preferably with a holder of Master’s degree. Supply Chain Certification.

Proven track record of 10+ years in Logistics & Supply Chain

Freight Forwarder experience

Retail

Cost modelling

Freight, Warehousing, Transport

E-commerce; last mile

Logistics operational experience

Freight trends and logistics service providers knowledge/market intelligence on competency

Project management and change management skills

Open book budgeting, business case

Contract management

Attention to Detail: Analytical with effective problem-solving skills & and is able to think strategically in any decision-making process.

Professional, positive & displays Integrity: Communicates openly, transparently & confidently across a wide variety of internal & external audiences. Ability to interact cross functionally with peers and senior leaders to achieve beneficial business results.

Highly organized: Strong prioritization, time management & organizational skills, also has the ability to delegate and organize others.
