We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong project cost control background using COINS and who worked for reputable building contractors to join our growing team. The selected candidate will be responsible for the review of the project for the assigned projects.
The successful candidate's key responsibilities would include:
- Reviewing project plans and preparing quantity requirements.
- Manage COINS-related activities and provide guidance/ training as needed to project team members in using the system.
- Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
- Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on role-specific tasks.
- Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents to ensure the project runs as per contractual requirements and budget.
- Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
- Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required to ensure sufficient materials on hand.
- Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets in order to have proper tracking and maintain supporting documents.
- Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased to ensure the best buy (price against quality).
- Perform project estimation, preparation of technical submittals based on Consultant’s approved vendors, ensuring competitive costs are submitted.
- Monitoring Cost Control, ensure all Purchase Orders are properly assigned
- Conduct forecast and actual consumption reviews on monthly basis for inventory mitigation amp; ensuring sufficient material levels for smooth supply.
- Report on budget versus Actual performance on a project-wise basis using COINS.
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you must have:
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction-related field
- Minimum 8 years in materials procurement sourcing with a main contractor
- Knowledge of COINS software is a must
- Experience in Healthcare industry desirable but not mandatory
- Experience in Modular and Warehouse Building industry desirable but not mandatory
- Possesses strong management skills
- Confident communicator (written and verbal) in English
- Proficient IT skills including MS Excel, Word, COINS software
- Strong numerical ability
- Ability to problem-solve independently and with others
- Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality
- Strong team player
- Willing to travel within UAE and internationally, including remote locations
