At AWS, we are hiring the best hands-on technical architects and systems development engineers, who can help our clients and partners deploy and operate their business-critical applications taking advantage of the global scale, elasticity, automation and high-availability features of the AWS cloud. Our consultants will collaborate with partner and client teams to deliver proof-of-concept projects, conduct topical workshops, and lead implementation projects. These professional services engagements will focus on customer solutions built with CloudFormation, API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, SQS, CloudWatch, Kinesis, and others.
Responsibilities include:
As Staff Consultant you will manage projects independently and also deliver as part of larger teams.
You will work with customers and partners internalizing their context while using your business and technical skills to design solutions based on requirements and constraints. You will own and complete key tasks and deliverables, and collaborate with others to define and implement optimal, complete solutions based on stakeholders needs.


You will work towards customer business outcomes, ensuring there is a strong connection between delivery activities and business objectives.

This is a customer facing role. You will be required to travel to client locations and deliver professional services when needed.

Job Specification

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
· 10+ years of experience as a technical specialist in customer-facing roles
· Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment.
· Strong hands-on experience with mainline programming and scripting languages such as Shell, Python, Ruby, Perl, Java, .Net, or C++
· Hands-on experience with building and managing release systems, code merging and promotion, and CI/CD workflows and tools
· Experience working with and delivering using Agile practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


· Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Math.
· At least one active project management certification (e.g. CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe, PMP, PRINCE2, APM, etc.)
· Knowledge of the primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53 & S3).
· Experience presenting business, project and solution topics to audiences of different roles including AWS and customer’s technical experts, project managers and line of business directors.
· Experience with Agile Project Management (APM) toolsets (Jira, RallyDev, VersionOne, Taiga, etc.) and team collaboration tools (Confluence, etc.)
· FinancialForce Professional Services Automation (PSA) for Salesforce or similar PSA application
· Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
· Experience in working with financial sector and airlines
