About the role
We are looking for a candidate that has experience in pre-owned luxury fine jewelry, should have worked within a quality control environment. Having experience in watches amp; fashion jewelry is a plus.
An eye for detail is key, being a gemologist amp; a horologist would be an ideal combination that we are looking for. The role involves thorough inspection, authentication amp; reviewing hundreds of products monthly to ensure they meet the quality standards, are 100% authentic and are luxury brand compliant, as well as managing third party service providers. Experience working with luxury fashion brands is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Review all fine jewelry, watches amp; accessories inbound items according to set guidelines to determine acceptable / unacceptable conditions, adhering to strict standards of quality.
- Clean jewelry.
- Assist Jewelry/Watch Authenticators with authenticity amp; quality check.
- Locate brand identifiers such as brand hallmarks, serial codes, authenticity cards.. etc.
- Identify genuine and modified materials/products.
- Develop personal strategies for research methods, focusing on efficiency and accuracy to prioritize the work flow
- Execute all aspects of the authentication process by accurately identifying colored stones and diamonds using GIA evaluation techniques as well as testing procedures used to determine precious metal purity.
- Research items to determine style, name, season, and retail price.
- Conduct research and produce documentation for brand authentication guides.
- Assist internal team in handling client requests about condition grading specifications.
- Maintain a seamless flow of communication with multiple departments including photography, web content and customer service.
Requirements
- GIA Graduate Gemologist Required.
- At least 3 years of technical work experience in the Luxury Jewelry amp; Watch industry.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Knowledge about luxury watches and watch making is a plus.
- Worked with a Gemological laboratory.
- Average to excellent vision (or corrected vision), without any color deficiencies (color blindness).
- MS Office expertise.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational amp; time management skills and acute attention to detail.
- Independent, patient, responsible and embracing a positive work attitude.
- Smart and Fast learner.
- Capable of working under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Working with physical items amp; multitasking.
- Can-do attitude, with a strong teamwork orientation.
