Job Description
We’re looking for a Chief of Staff to work with our CEO and co-founder, Hisham Al-Falih. This role will play a key role in driving organisational efficiency and owning key executive initiatives across the entire organization.
About the job
This is an opportunity to work directly with the founding team of a high-growth fintech startup working across operations and strategy to improve the day-to-day inner-workings of Lean.
You will understand the need to see projects through to fruition, and have deep empathy with people, championing a high-growth mentality at a fast-scaling startup, working seamlessly across functionalities; technical (product and engineering) and non-technical (commercial, strategy and finance).
You’ll act as the bridge between functionalities to enhance the leadership team's effectiveness to execute on Lean’s ambitious goals. Working on everything from market-entry strategy to creating a streamlined, coherent culture of working, this is a role for someone eager to get involved in the day-to-day running of a startup with a keenness to grow and learn through owning multiple initiatives and projects concurrently.

Lean is unlocking the untapped potential of fintech by providing the technological building blocks for institutions across the MENAP region.
Lean provides access to a Universal API that unlocks critical financial infrastructure for fintechs across the MENA region. The Lean API provides developers with easy access to build the next generation of cutting-edge financial solutions.
With the Lean API, fintechs can seamlessly connect to their customer's bank accounts to initiate payments and retrieve account information, such as balance and transaction history all while providing the customer with absolute control over their data and money.Lean is at the forefront of the Open Banking initiative within the Middle East. We aim to create a supportive and collaborative ecosystem of fintechs to support the growth of the industry within the region and ultimately give end-users useful products and seamless experiences.Responsibilities- Drive execution of action items and top priorities agreed upon by the CEO and the Executive Team.
- To work on special projects such as market-entry, data and project analysis by partnering with our functional heads and teams.
- Distill discussions and thoughts from team meetings into strategic plans.
- Provide ad-hoc support on projects small to large (e.g. research, modeling, internal initiatives, expansion efforts, partnerships, etc.).
- Ensure that Mission, Vision, and Principles are properly developed and communicated across teams.
Requirements- Demonstrated ability to be entrepreneurial and a self-starter.
- Ability to multitask and understand how to prioritize tasks based on importance vs. immediacy.
- Ability to collect and analyze data from multiple points both from inside and outside the organization.
- Extensive knowledge of unit economics, business operations, and corporate development and strategy.
- High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders across various functional disciplines to understand their respective challenges and motivations.
- Ability to work well with executives, and able to lead and influence across multiple levels and functions of an organization.
- Comfortable working in time-sensitive and rapidly evolving situations.
- High tolerance for ambiguity and complexity, while being efficient with limited resources
- Mature judgment and discretion in keeping sensitive information confidential.
- Proven to be a highly organized operator.
