About the role:
We are looking for a QA Lead who has experience building testing practices as well as writing and executing test plans and arranging compliance testing to ensure the product meets performance standards and requirements. You will help define procedures and support the achievement of long-term outcomes of the team. In this role, you will interact with department leads and peers and share information amongst the team and other departments. Our ideal candidate has experience overseeing a team and is detail oriented, dedicated and passionate about shipping quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advocate for quality in the product development and engineering process.
- Play a role in defining how QA is done at Baraka.
- Mentor and coach all levels of engineers on better testing practices and standards.
- Analyse and interpret quality gaps with the team.
- Work closely with Product to define and prioritise work into sprints.
- Embed quality assurance throughout the SDLC.
- Lead team test automation at all levels and define best practices.
- Assist working towards continuous integration collaborating with development and support teams.
- Review and contribute to unit, integration and end to end tests when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Strong experience of testing high performance, high availability production systems.
- Proven experience delivering and managing test automation projects.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum
- Experience with Python and Java testing frameworks
- Experience with performance testing tools - Selenium, Appium, JMeter
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to identify and communicate any project risks in advance, identifying solutions to mitigate them
