We are looking for an outstanding Lead Web Developer to join our growing team of talented SEO, CRO, and content marketing specialists at SEO Sherpa.
In this role, you will lead, train, manage, and hold a team of developers accountable and execute performance optimizations, plus new page builds for a renowned client list that includes some of the region's biggest brands.
You'll be responsible for optimizing the dev team's workflow and introducing proficient systems and processes for optimum task management. You'll also work to improve team-level KPIs and share progress throughout the organization.
As Lead Developer, you will act as the main point of contact for your team of developers, both externally with clients and internally within our leadership team.
You will work closely with external developer teams for tech implementation, scoping, and execution. Internally you will build rock-solid relationships with the technical SEO team to deliver best-in-class implementation for the agency and our clients.
Requirements

- Proven track record leading a small but mighty team of developers. You know how to hire, train and motivate a group and reach peak performance.
- You are a seasoned developer skilled at developing websites across numerous platforms and languages such as Javascript, Ruby, HTML, CSS, and PHP.
- You have in-the-trenches experience with all the major content-management-platforms. From WordPress to Shopify and Magento to Sitecore, you've experienced them all.
- You’re a champion of process and ongoing improvements, educating your team on project management best practices while keeping your eyes/ears open for new opportunities to drive workflow efficiency.
- You have a working knowledge of SEO, Paid Search, Data Analytics, CRO, and UX. You can perform common SEO optimizations like structured data, alt tags, metadata, and site speed improvements in your sleep if asked to.
- You keep yourself and your team organized in a project management tool like Monday.com, understanding workloads across different functions and projects. You know how to effectively communicate needs and roadblocks with technical and non-technical team members and clients while keeping your leadership peers from other divisions up-to-date with project status.
- When issues arise, you don't sweat it out. There is nothing you enjoy more than fixing bugs and solving challenging problems.
- You know how to best forecast team bandwidth for upcoming projects and are quick to find workarounds for surprise roadblocks; your strong communication, organization, and time management skills are unmatched, and your team loves you for it.
- You have experience interfacing directly with client POCs of all levels and can adapt your communication style and approach accordingly.
- Helping your teammates level up is one of your favorite things to do. With your skills and knowledge, you’ll provide training to members of the developer team on the latest techniques, trends, and best practices to improve their skills,
