Software Engineer - Routing and Mapping
CAFU, United Arab Emirates

• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists and a product manager to design, build, implement and maintain complicated data science and deep learning-based systems (image processing, data extraction, data recognition, data prediction, suggestions, data optimization).
• Work closely with operations and subject matter experts to optimize internal processes and/or build customer facing solutions.
• Host solutions in cloud computing platforms (Amazon Web Services).
• Being self-driven and able to take initiative to further the success of the business.
• Leveraging emerging technologies and critical thinking skills to continually innovate and automate existing methodologies, processes, and reporting. Design, develop, test, and implement new products and solutions.
• Effectively communicate with concise insights and/or visualizations of processes utilizing software such as Miro while partnering collaboratively with colleagues and senior leaders in the organization and their partners.
• Utilize instrumentation and experimentation techniques to predict, measure, and optimize Cafu fleet operations

Requirements

• Strong algorithmic skills. Familiarity or expertise in pathfinding algorithms and solving problems like:

1. TSP (travelling salesman problem)
2. CVRP (capacitated VRP)
3. VRPTW (VRP with time windows)
4. MDHVRPTW (multi-depot heterogeneous vehicle VRPTW)
5. PDPTW (pickup-and-delivery problem with TW)

• Experience working on distributed systems: developing reliable, high performance, highly scalable software (primarily in python/Go)
• Ability to work with data scientists to launch and interpret results of experiments. This can involve interacting with large data processing pipelines, distributed data stores, and file systems.
• Bonus points if you have experience geospatial services and datasets before, such as maps data, routing algorithms, traffic patterns, etc.
• Solid understanding of a wide range of statistical and machine learning methods and experience with the full ML lifecycle.
