JOB PURPOSE:
To ensure the I.T infrastructure and I.T systems across the entire mission are working efficiently and provide technical I.T support to all users
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and implement network security, including building firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions, and file system integrity and adding and deleting users.
- Install and removes software from computer systems and network, diagnoses and repairs technical issues and plans, designs, implements and administers user networks.
- Install, configure and maintain personal computers, file servers, internet networks, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices and systems; adds or upgrades and configures modems, disks drives, data acquisition boards, CD ROM units, printers, and related equipment.
- Ensure server upgrades and weekly back up takes place to ensure all information is well maintained and easily retractable.
- Maintain the efficient use of all IP telephones within GCCS business units to ensure effective and reliable communication can take place
- Manage all I.T assets provided to employees by maintaining a database that identifies the equipment which has been issued to employees in order to be aware of all allocated items
- Ensure all equipment is returned from leavers and update the I.T assets database accordingly
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 3 years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
- Cisco Certified Network Associate accreditation is an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proficient in database programming and software installation
- Attention to detail.Good problem-solving skills.
