BIM/CAD Designer – MEP

• As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, produce construction drawings and plan set using computer-aided drafting programs (knowledge of AutoCAD software and Revit is necessary)
• Completes design amp; drafting tasks on projects including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection designs for multiple markets.
• Closely work with other members of project teams with a willingness to take on more responsibilities as your experience evolves.
• Work closely with design leads and engineers in recommending the best use of CAD/BIM tools to achieve project objectives, and troubleshoot and resolve issues with CAD/BIM tools.
• Perform thorough quality control edits of construction documents as directed by the design team and utilize the correct project and/or company standards.
• Assist on-site visits with the project/survey team.
• Demonstrate good character traits and rapport with colleagues.
• Execute basic design functions while drafting (pipe, sizing, duct sizing, grille sizing, etc for mechanical, or cable sizing, breaker sizing, for electrical).
• Coordinate documentation received from potential sub-consultants to ensure consistency across documents and QA/QC, and to integrate within the overall design documentation.

• Technical Training with CAD/BIM software or equivalent work experience.
• All levels of experience will be considered. Experienced candidates are strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit. Ability to produce in both CAD amp; Revit, or to learn second quickly, will be required.
• Experience in Navisworks and MicroStation is a plus.
• Ability to work on multiple projects under the guidance of project managers/engineers/lead designers.
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, is required for experienced candidates.
• Ability to read and understand construction documents such as drawings, sketches, 3d representations, etc.
• Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
• Ability to retain information, details, and procedures for use on future projects.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
• Punctual, dependable, detail-oriented, and thorough.
• Being well-versed in multiple disciplines is strongly preferred.
• Experience on large and complex projects e.g. high rises, manufacturing facilities, transportation terminals, malls, and museums.
• Experienced with coordination of services, disciplines, and clash detection.
• Quality and accuracy are conscious and able to implement and follow strict quality control guidelines in the production of documents.
